homemade dog treats

Now that I am the proud mom of two dogs, I decided to give treat making a go. Not only do my dogs love these treats, but they are very wholesome-no preservatives or additives like store bought treats!

Recipe

1 1/2 cups instant oats
1 banana
1/2 cup peanut butter (I used all natural peanut butter from the machine at Kroger)

 1. Preheat oven to 350°

 2. Use a food processor to grind oats into a powder

3.  Mix oat powder, banana and peanut butter together with a mixer
4. Roll dough out onto flat surface, and use cookie cutter to cut treats
5. Bake for 6-10 minutes (until edges are crispy)
 6. Let sit on a cooling rack

I ended up doubling the recipe to make two batches, and freezing half of them for my pups to enjoy later!

moab, utah

I recently took a break from school to venture out West for a week. My dad and I started our trip in Moab, Utah, which is a quaint little town with lots of tourist activity. Following our day hikes, we drove into downtown Moab for dinner and a brew.

After hearing so many good things about Moab from my friends and co-workers, my expectations for the town were exceeded. Moab has to be one of my favorite places. Everywhere you look, you are surrounded by beautiful red rock sandstone, trees and cacti. Not to mention all of the great food choices (and ice cream).

Add this one to your list of places to go; you won't regret it!
